Basic Beanie Pattern

Ok, so here is a beanie pattern that works for just about, well, anybody.

I used a size H hook and some worsted-weight yarn.

Beanie: Ch 3, sl st in 1st ch to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 11 Dc in ring. Sl st in ch 3 to join.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, Dc in sl st, *2 Dc in next st*  To end. Sl st in ch 3 to join.
Rnd 3: Ch 3 (counts as first st from here on),Dc in sl st * Dc in next 2 stitches, 2  Dc in next st* to end. Sl st in ch 3 to join.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, Dc in next st, *2 Dc in next st, Dc in next 2 Stitches* to end. Sl st in ch 3 to join.
Rnd 5: Ch 3, Dc in next 2 stitches, *2 Dc in next St, Dc in next 3 stitches*. Sl st in ch 3 to join.
Rnd 6: Ch 3, Dc in each st to end. Sl st in ch 3 to join.

Repeat rnd 6 until desired length, fasten off. Try it on as you work on it! Add a couple more rounds if you want a slouchie hat. Send me some suggestions on how to embellish this hat!
